Baton Rouge-Signed by Governor Jindal on June 16th, HB648 created the Hermitage-Cross Creek Crime Prevention District. Creating this district will aid in crime prevention by increased security, maintenance of common areas, and related activities in the Gardere area. The district will be allowed to collect and expend funds that the board deems instrumental to achieving the purpose of the district. It will also be able to enter into contracts for the provision of security patrols or other programs in the district.
